"What hook was I using for this?" is one of those questions that all crocheters know, from digging up a shelved WIP. However, if you poke a stitch marker through a scrap of paper, and write the hook size on the scrap, then use that marker to hold your last stitch, you won't need to deal with that.

Green, with red puffs, crochet project. Its current stitch has a stitch marker keeping it from unraveling, and the stitch marker is also holding a scrap of paper with "5mm" on it.
