LSAT (tentatively) Accomplished
Oct. 7th, 2025 12:06 amThey've decided I tried hard enough to show the room (the black walls didn't help with how well lit it looked or didn't, TBH, and it's my contention that their extension's webcam-handling code setting it to potato resolution didn't help either), so I no longer have that status tag of not having an essay on file. So, my score from the main test, taken Saturday, should drop on the 24th along with everyone else's.
Maybe between now and then I'll manage to stop trying to revise the essay in my head. For a 35 minute draft it was OK. (For a 35 minute draft where I kept getting thrown off bc the proctoring extension tab kept taking focus away from the one I was working in, it was absolutely brilliant; kinda wish I knew what percentage of us had to overcome that.) But dammit, of course I can think of more things afterward that could've been good to include.
I don't need to have broken 170 -- the school that's my first choice for logistical and local networking reasons has a 155 median -- though I might: my practice tests were 163, 171, 173. There's no point in pretending getting a really fucking high score wouldn't be nice of course, but I don't need it, I need to not have absolutely fallen out the bottom of my practice range. And I don't think that happened; one of the RC sections was rougher than the other, but, from things people are being carefully vague about, it sounds like the hard one might have been the one that was getting its benchmarks done. (Though come to think of it, if I were LSAC, I would recycle the passages with different questions, both to save on writing/licensing passages and to mess with people who try to compare notes.)
Counting down...18 days to go. More or less; depending on what time of day they release scores.
Somewhere in there I wouldn't mind regaining my sense of what day it is. Today being Monday was, like, an abstract concept, not something amenable to time sense, because this weekend was so unrestful.
